We've been really busy these past few weeks. Graduation is upon us so that means senior portraits are in full gear. Sophia is a blossoming senior at Vestavia Hills Highs School and will be heading to college in Mississippi in the Fall. Brains and beauty have always been the perfect combination but Sophia is definitely the best of both worlds. With gorgeous big blue eyes, she really made my job so much easier! Arden Photography is so proud of all the graduates that are about to start new chapters in their lives. We've known some of these seniors since they were small children and it's always fun to see them doing amazing things! Congratulations Sophia and to the entire class of 2016! We wish you the very best in all of your future endeavors!
We absolutely love when we have weddings that are featured on different blogs and publications. This week ,we're excited to announce that Katie and Lacy's Spring wedding is featured on The Knot! Amazing vendors and a wonderful bridal party are always the key factors in having a featured wedding! It really does take a team effort to make sure the day is perfect in every aspect of the word. From florals to photography, all vendors play a huge role in assuring that the entire planning process is a success. There are so many different things to think about when the planning starts but at the end of the day we all provide the best service possible and we hope for moments like this. Congratulations to Katie and Lacy and to every team member that made this wedding a success! Be sure to check the link below to see more from this spectacular day!
We love it when our weddings are published! We would like to take this time to congratulate Lyndal and Daniel on their Wedding Chick feature! This was one amazing wedding with an overflow of glamour and southern sophistication! With a bridal party decked out in all white, who wouldn't love this wedding! We would like to thank our amazing vendors to contributed their time and ideas in making this wedding a huge success! Mariee Ami did an excellent job in planning and making sure no details were spared! Be sure to check the link below to view the gallery and congratulations again to this deserving couple!
We've always loved an excuse to attend a party! Arden Photography was front and center for the grand opening of Meta Fitness! This has been a dream come true for Matt and his partners and we could not be more excited for him! The fitness studio looks amazing and I was almost motivated to work out! After food, drinks and some social mingling, everyone heading outside for the finale of the ribbon cutting. I guess it's official, Meta Fitness is open for business and we wish you all the success in the world! Congratulations again and thank you for allowing us to be apart of the journey!
It's time to meet our second couple who were the winners of our contest that we held back in February. Matt and Lori were two of the winners from our Valentine's contest where future bride and grooms had the chance to win a portrait session from Arden Photography. The session took place at the historic Tutwiler Hotel. We spent the evening in the downtown district of Birmingham where we chatted, talked about upcoming plans and took a few photos here and there. It was an absolute joy to spend some time getting to know this amazing couple! I loved every minute of your photos and I was so thrilled that you entered the contest. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day and congratulations again Matt and Lori!
Two rehearsal dinners are better than one! We started the night off at the Grand Bohemian for a cocktail party in honor of Lizzie and Rod's big day! Champagne flowed, guests mingled, laughter filled the air and then we did it all again an hour later! That's right, the party moved to Galley and Garden where basically the same things happened, but on a smaller scale. It was such an awesome idea to have the celebration of the soon-to-be newlyweds at two different places. It was an opportunity for Lizzie and Rod to show some of the amazing places that Birmingham has to offer. This was such a fun night and I could not have asked for a better group of people to photograph! Congratulations on your wedding Lizzie and Rod and we know your parties will be double the excitement from now on!
Arden Photography held a contest during Valentine's week to celebrate the season of love! We asked our fellow Instagram and Facebook followers to nominate a deserving couple for a free photo session. Congratulations to Jess & Brad! The couple was nominated by their friend Mallory, who spoke some amazingly kind words about them. It was such a sweet story and we couldn't help but to choose them as one of our contest winners. Arden Photography was front and center for their sunset photo session. We hit a few of Birmingham's popular attractions and the photos look amazing. Congrats again to this awesome couple and for more photos from this session, be sure to click the link below!
Congratulations to a fabulous team for their amazing work and because of it, we have a Borrowed and Blue feature! I couldn't think of a better way to start the Spring season than a feature on a fabulous blog! We are so excited to share this wedding with you. This was surely one of the most spectacular events held at Windwood. The sweetest couple, the perfect vendors and a great team effort is always the best combination for a great feature. Congratulations again to Meagan & Bly! The link to view this awesome wedding is below!
We had such a wonderful time this weekend at Scene. The gallery was the host of an awesome show and I was fortunate to be one of the artist that was featured! Amazing pieces from William Rankin Mclure and Emily Farish were also featured! Scene is located at Pepper Place and it is quickly becoming one of Birmingham's most popular spots. Not only is Scene a gallery, it's also a venue that can hosts events and functions whether personal or corporate. Guests spent a few hours on Saturday admiring the art, mingling and getting to know the featured artists. I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity to be among such great artists!
Once again it was time for A Night Under the Big Top! Every year the event, which benefits Glenwood Autism and Behavioral Health Center, is held at The Club. The casino-styled event consists of a poker playing night with dancing and a silent auction. This year seemed to be bigger than ever! With an estimated crowd of 800 people, this was definitely the place to see and be seen! The silent disco, which was held on the terrace overlooking the city's beautiful landscape, is always a nice additional that really gets the party going! Overall, the fundraiser was a huge accomplishment for the center! We are always thrilled to be apart of such an amazing night! For more photos from the event, please check the online gallery's link here! http://ardenclients.instaproofs.com/collection.php?event=1333728
Emily and Rustin's awesome Fall wedding was just featured on Wedding Wire! Wedding Wire has featured so many of our weddings and we absolutely love working with them. Emily and Rustin were married at St. Marks and the reception was held at Windwood Equestrian. Thanks to Handley Breaux Designs, this wedding had some of the most amazing details ever! We're always eager to share photos from the couple's big day and now we have the opportunity to share more! We hope you love the feature as much as we do and thanks again Wedding Wire!
We love it when Arden Photography is featured! Thanks to Borrowed and Blue, Kaitlyn and Johnny's wedding will be seen by so many of you! We had some amazing vendors for this wedding and it's always a team effort when we are published! We're so excited to share this feature of this awesome wedding! Congratulations again to everyone involved in making this day spectacular and for helping create one of the most amazing weddings ever! Thanks Kaitlyn and Johnny for being the best bride and groom and for allowing us to share your wedding story!
This was surely not your average courthouse wedding! Who knew a federal building could be so beautiful and have such amazing natural light! Castles and Thomas were married last week in the presence of an intimate group of close friends and family. This is the first ceremony for the couple and this summer, they will have a larger wedding in the Philippines. After Thomas & Castles exchanged vows, we took advantage of some of the downtown scenery for some amazing photos. This is one of my favorite weddings this year and I'm so excited to share some photos! We hope you love them and congratulations to Thomas and Castles!
We absolutely love photographing the Pointe Ball! After all, you know the night will be filled with some amazing dance moves. This past weekend, Alabama Ballet held its annual Pointe Ball at The Club and Arden Photography was front and center. The room was painted red with decor and florals by Ray Jordan. The ball benefits the Alabama Ballet so we were actually treated to some preview performances from the company. After performances, guests wined, dined and participated in the silent auction. After dinner, the party moved into a room that was more appropriate for dancing! This is one of our favorite events to photograph and we're always counting down the days until next years! We hope you enjoy the photos!
Don't you just love a sneak peek? Well, so do we! We couldn't wait to share some photos from this weekend's amazing wedding! After a threatening Winter storm on Friday, the weather was all smiles on Saturday for Jason and Emily's big day. The sky was blue, the temperature was a bit nippy, but that wasn't anything a fur coat couldn't handle. The wedding took place at one of our favorite churches' in Birmingham, The Cathedral Church of the Advent. After the couple exchanged vows, everyone headed to the reception at Vestavia Country Club where Emily was the life of the party! Everyone danced, twirled and sang along to some of her favorite songs including her custom playlists. Check back for more photos from this awesome wedding and congratulations to Emily & Jason!
Maybe it's something in the water but recently twins have been popping up everywhere! It seems like everyday I learn about a new person who is expecting two bundles of joy. We were so excited to photograph Caroline's baby twins for their first birthday. I can't even image the amount of mischief these two are about to cause in the near future. I know that this household will be filled with plenty of laughter and some adventurous days! It's always shocking to see the different personalities of twins, even at a very early age. We can't wait to see these two grow up to become spirited toddlers. Before you know it, we'll be photographing double dates!
Arden Photography is so excited to announce the brand new cookbook for Kathy G! She is one of the best in the business and I know everyone is thrilled to finally have these recipes in hand! Now, you can officially throw your very own Kathy G dinner party with signature Lebanese food or an amazing pasta night. We've photographed many events with Kathy and we were ecstatic to learn that she actually chose one of our photos for her book cover. It's such an honor to be apart of this awesome journey and we could not be more proud of our friend. So, we advise you to hurry and get your copy of this hot commodity! We hope you love the recipes as much as we do and congratulations to you again Kathy! We're so proud of you!
This week's vendor spotlight is the amazing M. Elizabeth Events. Everyone isn't necessarily meant to be a wedding planner, but this group of ladies or should I say "organizing pros" definitely did not miss their calling. They're always there to ensure a flawless day for the bride, groom and vendors. Their "behind the scenes" hustle and bustle is appreciated by the entire bridal party, families and everyone who works together to pull off the perfect wedding. We've had several weddings together over the years and we're looking forward to a fabulous 2016 season. Thank you to the ladies of M. Elizabeth Events for keeping our brides smiling and for the amazing times that we've had together!
